Crested Butte has some of the best fishing in the world.  The Gold Medal Waters of the Gunnison, East and Taylor rivers are all with in a 10 minute drive from the Pioneer.  

If you don’t want to get in your car you can just walk in front of your cabin and try to pull a brookie, brown or cutthroat out of the Cement Creek which runs through the property. There are miles of the Cement Creek that you can hike and fish all day long in a peaceful and remote setting.  We do ask that you catch and release here at the resort, but there are big rivers, small streams, lakes, beaver ponds, stocked ponds and huge reservoirs all that are a short drive from the Pioneer. 

If you’ve never fly-fished before we recommend a river float trip for the highest chance of success.
